Forum organised on the occasion of World COPD Day

On November 14, 2024, the Belgian Lung Foundation organized an event at the Chamber of Representatives for World COPD Day, entitled: COPD: A Long-Term Challenge.

Experts and members of parliament discussed Belgian policy regarding this disease, which affects more than 800,000 people in Belgium. Despite widespread access to care, Belgium ranks 31st out of 34 countries in the COPD Index.

Members of parliament underwent spirometry testing and participated in a COPD Forum on the challenges of screening and treatment. Four key action areas were identified: raising awareness, early detection, prevention, and optimizing care pathways.

We count on your collaboration to achieve these goals!
